Girls Guide to Kennebunkport, Maine

Kennebunkport, Maine is a historic fishing village turned seaside tourist destination. The coastal small town encompasses stunning beaches, unique boutiques and picturesque streets. Kennebunkport is a seasonal destination with beautiful foliage in the fall, a beach escape in the summer, and one of the most popular Christmas towns in the winter. This Hallmark Christmas movie town is known to be one of the best Christmas destinations in America. During the season, Kennebunk has a massive tree in the center of the square, Christmas markets, festive boutiques, and the Christmas prelude. Whether your coming to Kennebunkport with festive lights or the beautiful beaches here’s my list of where to explore, where to shop, where to dine, where to stay and what not to miss in this idyllic town!

Where to Stay:

During my trip to Kennebunkport I stayed at the Kennebunkport Captains Collection. Kennebunkport Captains Collection is the cutest homey inn and conveniently located walking distance to the downtown area of shops and restaurants. The hotel serves daily breakfast in the gorgeous sun room as well as nightly happy hours with tea and freshly baked cookies cooked with love by the innkeeper. It’s really giving Gilmore Girls and I absolutely love it. The inn is more like a large house than a hotel which is so special and truly makes me feel at home. Each room in the house is different and I stayed in the Jefferds Deluxe King with Fireplace . The room had a king bed, sitting area, fireplace, and overlooked the lovely neighborhood.

Where to Dine:

Dining out is one of my favorite parts of traveling to new places and tells you a lot about the destination you are in. To me, Kennebunkport is a healthy, mindful and slow living coastal close knit community.

Boathouse Restaurant The iconic Love KPT neon sign shining on the harbor is home to the Boathouse restaurant. The Boathouse Restaurant is the liveliest place in Kennebunkport. This seafood American restaurant serves fresh Maine flavored fair on the Kennebunk River.

Earth at Hidden Pond Unfortunately we didn’t make it to this requested spot because of their hours but I’m almost positive by what I’ve heard and what I saw on their Instagram I would absolutely love this place so I had to recommend it here. This organic restaurant on a hidden pond has seats with fur accessories, a cozy fire, and the most rustic chic atmospehere. Earth prides itself on having the freshest fish, vegetables, and other culinary offerings. A fan favorite from the locals I met on my visit and a one of a kind experience.

Dock Square Coffee- Going out for coffee on a trip is a must and Dock Square Coffee makes it fun with their seasonal flavored lattes and fresh made croissants!

Auberge Resort- head to this stunning property to see the beauty of music elegance with and American flair. I imagine this is where the Bush family hangs out on the regular. Make sure to make a reservation if you’re going for dinner or just head to the bar to get a drink and take in the vibes.

Batson River- This spot caught my eye because of the dog logo and big crowds. It’s a brewery and restaurant in the downtown area of Kennebunkpor brewing 8 different craft Maine beers and serving cocktails.

Alissons- This is where you’ll go to find the locals and to stay our late. Adding this here because it is the latest spot opened in Kennebunk and it is a sleepy town. It’s really cute on the outside by on the inside you get exactly what you would imagine from a basic 2 star American restaurant.

No matter what season you chose to come, Kennebunkport is a must New England trip to add to your bucket list!
